Our story

In the 1970’s, Jacques and Didier Lemonnier, two brothers from a Versailles trader family, wrote the first chapter of the L’Éclat de Verre story. These brothers were closer than most. One loved history and antiques and the other loved decoration, so together they put together an original concept: custom frames built in the workshop by master craftsmen, plus a DIY framing and cardboard crafting offer for hobbyists. Success came swiftly.
The company now operates 28 shops, with 26 in France and 2 in Benelux. With an annual production of more than 40,000 frames, L’Éclat de Verre is now the leader in their field and the top framing company in France.
